Customer scenario:
Items are picked against a license plate, using work template, for sales orders.
Pick/put steps are complete, with the 'put' location being a holding/marshalling area. So we now have a box of picked items in a warehouse location, ready for further processes.
Customer then runs a planning process (which boxes/orders are going on which transport vehicles etc), which updates information against shipment in Dynamics.
Customer now wants to scan the license plate on the box in the marshalling area, and produce a custom label with customer/order/delivery information on it.
I can create the (custom) label in D365, but I don't know how to trigger the print, as this process would not use a print line on the work template, as no work is being carried out at this point. I cannot re-print license plate, as we haven't printed a LP so far in the process, and it would be for new information.
Why is there no mobile device menu for 'print any label you want' and define the label ID?! :)
Does anyone have a solution for this, or seen/done something similar?
