unit sequence group id on creating new part

Hi there,

When creating new part in D365, we always get this message:

Which we then need to enter a value in this part on Released products>Warehouse

Is there a way to generate this automatically or at least put a default unit of measurement?

    Hi C Wee,

    There is no way to automatically generate it. You need to specify it manually.

    Are you using the "create and release in a single step" process to create new parts? If so, you could set up a template part and populate the "Unit sequence group ID" as well as the "Storage group" and "Inventory unit" fields. Then you can select that template when creating a new part and the unit sequence field will be copied/populated automatically.

    You can populate more fields on the template item, if that makes sense in your case.

    Open the Released products form, select your simple product and click on the Tempate button, then Create shared template
