Workflows not Firing

ReportReport

I have set up a workflow to create a case from a contract line and assign it to a team member. The problem is that it won't fire at all! On the General page I have 'run in background' as well as 'on demand' when 'record is created' and 'record status changes' I have it set up as 'if contract-product line is a report' then create report case, then assign to rep. It is activated as a process, workflow, under entity of contract line.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

This page won't let me copy and paste into the box. Can I get your email address or is there another way I can show it to you?

Hope you have checked async service is running properly and this is effected only for this specific workflow.

Are you able to see the extension job in system job records?

Otherwise it would be a logic error.

Thank you for responding! I tried what you suggested and the workflow works beautifully on demand--why won't it work in the background? I also realized that when I pull up 'process sessions' after unchecking the 'automatically delete completed workflow jobs' that the workflow was 'successful' --but it still wouldn't show up on the case or task list....unless I did it on demand. This is just getting more and more difficult to figure out.

Have you checked out the process session to see why it might be failing? If you double-click the workflow under Processes, look in the left nav where you should see 'Processs Sessions'. Here you'll see all instances where the workflow was triggered, whether it completed or not. If there's nothing (or at least nothing recent) in this list, it means your workflow isn't even being triggered, which may indicate that it's either associated with the wrong entity or it hasn't been activated.

If you DO see entries in the list, it can tell you whether they are hanging up, failing, or completing successfully (but with results other than those you expected). If they are not completing you can open them up and it may give you an idea of where the process gets caught - that is, the last completed clause in the workflow process.
