Error in CRM - the app id is invalid or you don't have access to the app

Hello,

I am using CRM Online version 9.

I copied a link of a View in Opportunity (from my account) and sent the link to others via email.

It opens fine on my machine. It also opened fine last week on others machine.

But lately, it has started giving this error:

2262.crm.jpg

Any particular reason for this?

Thank you.

I got a different link two weeks ago which is

    abc.crm6.dynamics.com/main.aspx;extraqs=%3fappid%3d6d8043ab-c7f7-e611-80ff-c4346bc540c4%26pagemode%3diframe%26sitemappath%3dSFA%257cSFA%257cnav_oppts&pagetype=entitylist&viewid=%7bB0007BB4-92B0-E811-A96A-000D3AD1C3AF%7d&viewtype=1039

and today, I am getting this link of the same View

    abc.crm6.dynamics.com/main.aspx;extraqs=%3fpagemode%3diframe%26sitemappath%3dSFA%257cSFA%257cnav_oppts&pagetype=entitylist&viewid=%7bB0007BB4-92B0-E811-A96A-000D3AD1C3AF%7d&viewtype=1039

    Hi Huzefa,

I have the same problem, did your error go away by itself or did you do something to fix it? I haven'e been able to find any forums or discussions about this error online yet.

    Thanks!

From first glance, it looks like the first record was accessed via an established Model-Driven app (abc.crm6.dynamics.com/main.aspx;extraqs=%3fappid%3d6d8043ab-c7f7-e611-80ff-c4346bc540c4%26pagemode%3diframe%26sitemappath%3dSFA%257cSFA%257cnav_oppts&pagetype=entitylist&viewid=%7bB0007BB4-92B0-E811-A96A-000D3AD1C3AF%7d&viewtype=1039)

while the second (abc.crm6.dynamics.com/main.aspx;extraqs=%3pagemode%3diframe%26sitemappath%3dSFA%257cSFA%257cnav_oppts&pagetype=entitylist&viewid=%7bB0007BB4-92B0-E811-A96A-000D3AD1C3AF%7d&viewtype=1039) doesn't have the app reference and might have been copied from a login where you went through the default admin access (otherwise known as legacy -- custom) to Dynamics?

If this is the case and you have the Legacy app open to all users (settings here: https://www.marksgroup.net/blog/dynamics-365-hide-legacy-dynamics-app-from-users/), but you don't have the app shared to all users then that would explain the discrepancy.

Totally right, Chris. In my case, one admin user created the view in a legacy that is not shared with no-admins so the second user was getting the error because they didn't have access to the legacy where it was created. Solved it by recreating the views in the legacy that is available for everyone and advising everyone who can see other legacies to work only in the org shared one. Thanks!

In order for users to view apps, they must have a security role with app permissions.
(security role > Customization > App)
