Suggested Answer

Create second company in different country

Good morning,

we are trialing Dynamics 365 Business Central - our parent company is UK-registered and we have a subsidiary in the US. Everything in the initial setup looks good (GBP as currency, VAT numbers, etc etc). However, when I set up a second company (for our US subsidiary) even though the address has "US" as the selected country code, I can't get it to switch into a US-centric mode of operation (USD as base currency, Routing numbers for bank accts etc.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Michael

General ledger setup to change base currency. Change the language of the session to English US to change the captions of fields. Check the bank account card for example to see the changes

You may find not all you need is available in a GB localised database. Sales tax for example or EFT for bank files are handled differently. For full US functionality you need a US database. I would discuss this with your Microsoft partner as another production database in the same tenant results in an extra monthly fee

    Michael,

As Josh noted, Business Central has country specific version that comply with Government and Country regulations. US based version includes Sales/Use Tax and Checks. Also, US based version can utilize Yodlee to download the Bank Statement for reconciliation whereby Yodlee cannot be used in GB.

I would consider adding a second country version to your tenant is allowed (max is 3). This can be accomplished by your Partner.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve
