Leads to contacts CRM 2015

hi

This may be a simple question, when qualifying a lead in crm 2015, i've occasionally seen the prompt to setup as a contact. But recently i haven't been able to force this to occur so when a lead is qualified and i just want to create a contact to relate to a account, instead of an opportunity its not allowing me and is going straight to opportunity instead.

Can someone give me some guidance on what prompts the dialog box to ask what i want to be created?

    Hi Steve,

Yes. This is different between CRM 2011 and CRM 2013/2014 Lead Qualification.

If you still remember in the CRM 2011 there is a prompt box to show and allow users to choose after qualification create what, Contact/Account/Opportunity.

Now, please refer to this link

    crmtipoftheday.com/.../qualify-lead-crm-2011-vs-crm-2015

Provided you want to create only contact and Account, you mean existing Account or new Account?

That link will explain which field you should key in, either using Existing or key in Contact/Company fields

    Like for example:

"When you qualify a Lead that has a First/Last Name and Company Name filled out a Contact, Account and Opportunity are created.

The Contact has the Account in the Company Name lookup field

The Account has the Contact in the Primary Contact lookup field

    The Opportunity has

The Account in the Account lookup

The Contact in the Contact lookup

The Account in the Potential Customer lookup"

If you want to not create Opportunity, you need to interrupt the process using plugin on the Qualify message event in the lead.

    Hope this can help you.

    Thanks.

Hi, I know this is not the way it should be, but it works until a solution comes up.

We Qualify in bulk the Leads we have selected. Once Qualified, the opportunities are created.

But we this we do not want for a bulk of Leads that we want to 'Qualify as Contacts'.

So, we then delete all the new opportunities and then only Contacts remain, with or without Account and duplicates checked or not..

Good luck and hope this helps,
