Synchronous Workflow logs

Hi,

I was wondering where can I find the logs for my successful synchronous workflow.where?

Does anyone know what went wrong?

If my synchronous workflow executed successfully I can't find anything in Process Session or any

    if its a real time workflow then  system does not keep system job log that completed successfully its by design. you will see system job log only when workflow fails.

    Hi Rahul,

    You must selected "Automatically delete completed workflow Jobs (to save disk space)" option in workflow definition.

    or

    If you not select this option, then only CRM will log/process sessions for successful workflows.

    Rahul,

    Actually if it is synchronous workflow (real time), it is stored in the Process Session --> Real Time

    For async will be stored in the Background processes and system job log as well.

    Of you cannot find this process session, you need go to Form Editor and add the Process Session in the Navigation explorer (left navigation in the Form editor)

    By default CRM 2013, especially for real time workflow didn't check the keep log in the Workflow setting to save some space.

    So, to enable this, please go back to your Workflow, deactivate first and then make sure you uncheck the "Automatic delete completed workflow jobs .."

    and make sure you keep the log in the workflow job log retention

    Then activate it again.

    Btw, the old workflow, you cannot make this history available, only will be available for the new workflow job instance.

    Hi Aileen,

    I tried adding Process Session link on form but still I cant see any logs.

    Also "Automatic delete completed workflow jobs .." is an option for async workflows.For Sync WF,we have an option "Keep log retention..." which only keeps log if encounters error.

    I cannot find "Real Time Processes" tab.I remember,I had this option earlier.

    I'm running on CRM 2013 SP1.

    You will get Real time processes tab under record navigation..

    Open record and then click on Record navigation -- you will see activties, Audit history and other related record.. Here you will get Real Time processes tab.

    But this tab will keep the log for failed synchronus workflows log.

    For Sync workflow CRM always removing process session if it is succeeded.

    I tried on OOB contact and account entity,Real Time Processes is not there.

    Yes,it is removing logs from process session for successful WF but that's what my query is?

    Hi Rahul,

    Successful synchronous workflows don't leave logs, if you want to see logs convert your workflow to background process and then you can see them.

    Hi Rahul,

    Unfortunately, no logs would be available for synchronous/real time workflows having status successful. Although you can search, synchronous/real time workflows with status failed/cancelled/unsuccessful.

    You can use advanced find for that or you can go to each record and click on real time processes tile, as shown by Aileen
