Issue:

1. LS NAV Start on POS - Very Slow on end user

2. Restarting Dynamics NAV Server  or the Server Unit will make their POS LS Retail return to Nomal but this issue will reoccur again after several days

Running LS Retail on 4GB of RAM sound a little low.

You should contact your LS Retail partner or refer to:

Oh, sorry forgot to indicate. Both Server (NAV Server Side) and POS Unit (NAV + LS Client Side) has a 8GB of RAM.

But the issue was - When Dynamics NAV Server consumes memory from 1GB to 5GB -Their LS Retail will be slow on processing

Restarting the Server will make it normal.

But the Slowness Issue will re-occur after several days.

    Thank You,

    Elrey,

Adding to Inge reply... When I implemented NAV and LS Retail, I had to run several performance tools to improve the processing and issues you encountered. I know a person who can possibly help you and here is his email address:

    david@goliveinternational.com (David Singleton)

He is an expert in this type of issue.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Hi, It is difficult to find out the cause of performance problems, which has a lot to do with your current operation, setups and customization.

You can try to check the system settings, or test on the more advanced CU of NAV2016.

But according to your instructions, the problem does not occur right away. Although it is a bit troublesome, is it possible to set the server to restart every day?

    Hope this will help.

There is no one particular solution that will fix the whole problem. If you have access to SQL management studio it would be a starting point. Have a look on the activity monitor to see if you can find anything odd in the Recent and Active expensive queries.

On the service tier, you can also look at the performance data using TYPEPERF

Log the performance counters like \Microsoft Dynamics NAV(*)\# Running task to a CSV file to analyse.
