Contract Lines Sub-grid alternative

Hi All,

Within my CRM online (D365 8.2), I have a custom entity that needs to display it's related contract's lines. My custom entity has a lookup to its parent contract and I'd like to be able to show the associated lines to that contract. Now, my initial plan for this was to create a quick view form on the contract to display a sub-grid of these records. However, you are not able to create sub-grids of contract lines (only available through unsupported SQL database changes which is not possible online.)

Does anybody have any tips on how to provide this functionality?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello CPSTC.

Create a Sub-Grid on your contract... and associated it with contract line. DONE!

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

    Hi Karsten,

Sorry, I didn't quite clarify. I'd like this sub-grid to appear on my custom entity from. So the custom entity record needs to show it's parent contract's contract lines.

    Thanks

I would try to setup a N:1 field on the custom entity and the related Contract.  This will establish the relationship.  Since contract lines are not support to display in any subgrid - try custom reporting to display them.  Or use SDK.

Hi Frank, I already have this relationship set-up. The custom reporting piece is essentially what my question is. What custom reports can I create in order to display this information on the form?

    Thanks

    Try SSRS.  check this link:

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for your suggestion - decided to go with a javascript URL builder function and an IFrame - got there in the end.
