How to resolve the issue of Exchange Online will begin retiring SMTP Basic Authentication

I received the below email from Microsoft
 

Take action to resolve the issue in your environment.

Issue observed: One or more of your environments are currently using Exchange SMTP Basic Authentication. Please note that Exchange Online will begin retiring SMTP Basic Authentication on March 1, 2026.

Action required: If you're still using Basic authentication, to ensure continued service and gain enhanced security, migrate to OAuth 2.0 (Modern Authentication) before that date.

 

I dont know if this issue is from code or from business central functional side and how to resolve this, Please guide.

    Hello,
     
    Your BC is still using SMTP with Basic Authentication.
    This comes from Email Accounts setup, not code.
     
    Fix =
    BC → Email Accounts → replace the old SMTP (Basic Auth) account with a Microsoft 365 / OAuth email account.
