This would be cumbersome approach. Client has 213 vendors. When they create a new Item Card, they'd like to enter vendor# with a dash and next sequential number to create the following example composite: 1000-113165. How difficult would this be to do?
Initially, client wanted to use vendor#-model number to create items for special orders where you can customize finishes, upholstery, etc. However, the model number component was creating duplicate item numbers so seeking other solutions.
