New GP company creation-sql db created, gp company not created

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I created new GP company in GP 10.  Utilities completed without error.  The sql db was created but I don't see the company in the DYNAMICS.SY01500 table so can't login to it (not in company drop down on login window).  Never had this problem before.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Vip Kumar

There is no table that technically holds the Next Company ID. The Sy01500 table holds the company id for each company and when the next company is created this is the table that gets looked at. I would not recommend just going into tables and deleting or updating records.

Delete the company, run clear company script, verify DYNS is the owner of all GP databases and then create the new company again.

Hi, I have the same issue. Which tables did you find the next Company ID in?

    Hi Richard,

I looked in the sql table SY01500 and don't see it in the drop down.  I am logged in as sa.  It is not in the User Access list (had checked that but forgot to mention it).  I figured out the problem.  I found the next company id in several dynamics tables.  I deleted those records.  The company was created without a problem.

    Thanks

When you say it is not in the sy01500 table, did you look there with SQL Studio or just said that since you can't see it in the drop down?

If the later, are you logged in as SA?  If you log in as SA to another company, can you go to Admin->Setup->System->User Access and see the company in that list?  If yes, then give access to the users that need to be in the company.
