Preventing duplicates when adding contact to marketing list via workflow

Hello.

We use a workflow to populate static marketing lists for subsequent use in Click Dimension campaigns.

The workflow option to "add marketing list member" is a custom function from a solution we imported some time ago (I can't recall the name of the solution).

When invoked it is adding the marketing list member whether or not they already exist on the list.

Does anyone know of a way in CRM2013 onpremise to prevent duplicate contacts being added to static marketing lists?

I saw a workflow function which gave the option to "check if exists on marketing list" but the solution was only for dynamics365.

Thanks for any help;

- Seamus

    Hi, is there an development to the issue?

    we are facing the same Problem. Since it is in an on premise system (ver 8.2.5.4) we were able to confirm that the duplicated marketinglist members have the same Lead GUID. Also, under the associated view of the affected lead, the same Marketing list shows up twice, in the Listmembers Subgrid of the Marketing list, the affected lead shows up 4 times.

    Thanks Sreevalli, - yes, I think this is a problem with just one particular list - I cannot add a contact to it more than once (as you correctly stated) but whatever happened yesterday it does have duplicate listmembers which I cannot delete from the marketing list. (I AM able to remove marketing list members who do not have duplicate entries) I can see the duplicates at database level in listmemberbase table with all the same field values except version number.

    Hi,

    That shouldn’t case, CRM cannot add duplcates contacts to Lists.

    If you are referring duplicates by email(or any other field) they you have enable keys to prevent duplicate creation after data cleanup.

    If you just want allow contact to create but shouldn’t add to list means you have go for a custom workflow or plugin
