    Hello,

This happens when an employee record is locked by an unfinished payroll process. It’s usually caused by an unposted payroll batch or a user session that didn’t close properly, even though no visible transaction exists. Have all users log out, check for unposted payroll journals/registers, and retry. Once the lock clears, the employee will post normally.

    Hello,

This issue occurs due to an abrupt session closure, an interrupted payroll posting, or a background session that did not release properly. The issue can be resolved by checking and ending inactive sessions from Active Sessions, asking all users to log out and back in, or restarting the NAV Service Tier to clear the stuck lock. Once the session is cleared, payroll posting will work normally.

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni

Check Active Sessions and have the user sign out, or end the session from the Admin Center to release the lock.

There’s an open session holding a lock (often because the user left a page mid‑edit, has a confirmation dialog open, or an unposted change). Here’s a clean, step‑by‑step way to unblock safely:

Ask the user to fully close their BC session

    • Have them sign out of BC and close the browser tab/window.

    • If they use multiple tabs, ensure all BC tabs are closed.

    • If they’re on mobile or desktop app, quit the app.

This alone releases many pending transactions.

    hii there,
as per requirement you need to check any custom code is there or not . for table locking . you can apply for that batch job on non working hours as to prevent any error or locking . as suggest by other member currently you can logout all users and run batch job.

If you found answer mark it answered.
    Thank You.
