Fetch XML reporting questions (Online/Hosted)

Greetings and Salutations,

I am new to CRM online. I do not know anything about fetch XML and I am struggling. I have looked on google and other forums but I am getting miss leading information. I need some information on the following,

- Where do I go to create and edit existing fetch xml reports, " Does this need to be done within visual studios?" If so how can I connect to all of the existing reports that were created before I got here?

- Is there an option to edit reports within the online interface?

- Is there a good site that talks about how to create effective reports with fetch XML outside of TechNet/Microsoft website?

I am using Microsoft CRM 2015 online

Warm Regards,

Aaron

you can find all the reports in the crm under reorts section. There is  no way to bulk download all the rdl file you have to choose one by one and click on edit , under more you will have option to download report. That will give you rdl fiel.

Maybe a better way to ask is how can I download all of the existing reports within VS

You need to have following components before to get started with fetchxml report

•Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012

    -- OR --

•Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server Data Tools

•To install SQL Server Data Tools, on the PC running Visual Studio 2010 go to the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express download page, download the following files appropriate to your CPU architecture and language:

    •ENU\x64\SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe

    •ENU\x86\SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe

•Select the "SSDT" or "SQL Server Data Tools" installation.

Once you have all the above components install the report authoring tool from below url

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Once you all this in your system you can start building or editing fetchxml report. If you don't have all the existing report RDL file there is no need worry as you can download them from the crm.

Check the below post that shows all the steps to build fetchxmlo report with screen shots

The second thread you referred to said that visual studios is not available in 2012 yet but the first thread says it is. Is it available in 2012 then?

Is there a way to do this within VS 2013? I would like to avoid downloading 2012 if at all possible
