I am having trouble configuring the CRM 4.0 adapter.

for Domain:  I have test (the name of the domain)

for user Name:  I have administrator

for password:  I have the password

for port I have:  5555

for discovery server I have: http://virtual/MSCRMServices/2007/AD/CrmDiscoveryService.asmx

Virtual is the name of the server

If I go to http://virtual:5555/MSCRMServices/2007/AD/CrmDiscoveryService.asmx

in internet explorer the CRM discovery service opens

When I test the settings in the adapter is says:

Test settings failed:

A connection to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Discovery Web Service could not be validated using the "http://virtual/MSCRMServices/2007/AD/CrmDiscoveryService.asmx" and the "5555" port.

The following exception occurred while attemption to retrieve all companies:  The remote name could not be resolved: 'http'

    Hi Travis,

I have the same problem with configuring connector between CRM/AX.

I am doing this on the new, refresh 4 machine.

When I was doing this on the refresh 2 machine, everything was ok.

Did you try instead of  http://virtual/MSCRMServices/2007/AD/CrmDiscoveryService.asmx, just machine name?

I am interesting did you resolve your problem?

Could you please answer me if you solved the problem, which is a solution.

    Best regards

I ran into the same problem "A connection to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Discovery Web Service could not be validated" and "The remote name could not be resolved: 'http'".

When I entered just "localhost" or the server name it worked (the ERP system and CRM is on the same machine).

It seems that the documentation is wrong when it states to use the full link - only the server name should be used for the discovery service.
