How can we optimize the space taken by audit logs?

Hi,

We have just turned on the audit logs for user access and user activity in dynamics 365 online, its been just one day and we have more than 500 logs in the system. And right now we only have 3 users accessing the dynamics 365 online. I want to know where these logs are storing and how much dynamics 365 online storage they will take? What best measures we can take in order to save the storage of dynamics? If the number of user will increase then surely these logs numbers will also get increased. So any suggestions or help in this regard?

Thanks.

    Hi waleedbinafzal,

    This article discusses auditing of user acess in Dynamics 365. You can set the frequency of auditing user access by using the Organization.UserAccessAuditingInterval attribute.

    I recommend only enabling auditing for the most important entities and fields to keep the size of audit logs down. If required, you can delete all the audit change history records for a particular record by using the DeleteRecordChangeHistoryRequest message, or delete all the audit records for a date range by using the DeleteAuditDataRequest request.

    More information on auditing entity data changes can be found here.

    Hi waleedbinafzal,

    1)You have an option to delete the logs for 3 months that is one record will be  created under Audit Log Management that will represent logs of 3 months.

    So,when you delete that record from Audit Log Management  the records for the 3 months in Audit Summary View will also get deleted.

    Settings->Audting->Audit Log Management

    2)To delete audit logs using custom code you can use  DeleteAuditDataRequest .

    Kindly refer the link given below
