requisition worksheet (MRP) - safety stock not considered

Hi

I have set up safety stock at Item level and when running requisition worksheet system ignores (tick consider safety stock on requisition options before running). now if I create a stock keeping unit and enter safety stock there then it works.  Any reason why item level safety stock is not working?

    Samantha,

    The option in "Calc. Plan.." is to respect the Planning Parameters when you fall below your Safety Stock level.  Meaning if I have an Order Multiple of 6 and I am two units below my Safety Stock Level, the system will order in multiples of 6.  If I was NOT using the option to respect, the system would have ordered the two units to bring my Safety Stock back, then ordered again for any remaining demand.

    When you say it is not working what results are you expecting, and what results are you getting?

    Thanks Ben, I did another test in Cronus with a new item where I defined the safety stock  for a new item without any demand or stock, and the system behaved the way you have described.  If safety stock is 100 and minimum order qty is 200, without respect planning parameters enabled, suggested 100
