Payment Terms carried over from Entity to Entity ?

I am trying to have the specific payment terms of an account carried over to the opportunity and quote, but workflows do not seem to allow for it. How can I have these carry over all the way through the sales process? (CRM 2011 on-premise)

I think the problem is that the out of the box Payment Terms on Account doesn't use a global option set. If you created a new field for Payment Terms and also a global option set for the values on Account and Quote and whichever other entities require it, you should find you set then set the value using a workflow.

You can use the relationship mapping here to map fields from source record to target record,

You can refer below link for mapping attributes for two entities

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg334512.aspx

    www.pardot.com/.../mapping-your-mscrm-lead-fields-to-contact-fields

Also, you need to look in to hidden mapping for further implementation

    Thanks,

Jason, that was what I was thinking (but hoping to avoid). Thank you for your input.

Vijay, unfortunately your suggestion is a little over my head. Reading through the links you provided seems logical but then I am not sure how to get to that level. (I have had to teach myself the whole system with little guidance)
