Reservation Entry Blocking Item Removal from Project

Hi Everyone,

We are unable to remove a component from a project because the system throws an error referencing an old reservation entry linked to a past assembly order. The planning line we created is not related to that assembly, which makes the error unclear.

To resolve this, we followed our usual process: created a negative planning line and attempted to post a project journal to return the item to inventory. We also checked the Entry No. and Item No. and confirmed there is an old reservation entry in the system, but we are unable to delete or clear it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? How can we safely remove or release this reservation?

If you are certain that its an old reservation entry then you can delete it either with the assistance of a developer or as a last resort you can use this data editor tool Table Data Editor for Business Central

If you use that tool without validation on the reservation entry table you can view that record and delete it. I'd recommend a super user use that tool as a last resort if required. This can sometimes happen with reservation entries so that's what i've done in the past.
