Dynamics 365 Portals disable OpenRegistration but keep Azure AD registration

Hi all,

We are developing a Dynamics portal for internal and external usage. We'd like to invite external users so we set the OpenRegistrationEnabled to false. Registration disappeared what is good in our case. BUT! When we tried to login (only the first time) to the portal with an AD user we got redirection to "Sign up with an invitation code" page. The problem starts here. AD users does not have invitation code at all. So how can we achieve the following two scenarios:
1. external users invitation (disallow registering but send invitation code)

2. internal (AD) users register/login with Azure AD (without invitation code)

Kind Regards,

Teo

    Hi Teo,

Per my understanding you should disable local Registration (Authentication/Registration/OpenRegistrationEnabled set to false) at the Portal but enable AzureAD registration (should be still enabled by default).   The same time keep Authentication/Registration/InvitationEnabled to true; (looks like again by default).

Very good video about configuring the auth at the Portal - myignite.techcommunity.microsoft.com/.../65452 (see from 11 minute)

And few links about site settings to control auth at the portals are:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../set-authentication-identity

    Hi!

Thank you for your answer. The video is really good and helpful to get basic picture about login providers and portal settings but i haven't got answer for my problem. I still get forwarded to invitation code (Redeem Invitation) page when I sign in with Azure AD for the first time even if I set "Authentication/OpenIdConnect/AzureAD/AllowContactMappingWithEmail" site settings and register the contact manually in CRM.

If I set the Local Identity and External Identities (except Security Stamp) on the contact I got this:

    Had the same issue.

So the real problem was that the new user, first of all, had to register the account (check twice in contacts - there should be no user you are trying to login).

That is why - I was redirected to only available registration - Invitation.

As a result, setting Authentication/Registration/ExternalLoginEnabled as true solved the problem.

    Hope it will help!
