Text file requirements for Integration manager

I'm new to IM - went thru the quick start drill and then tried to make my own JE integration.  Set the files up exactly as the file in quick start - 2 lines!  when I brought the source file in there are many lines.  What are the parameters for the header and detail text files?  what is necessary to take an excel file to IM?

    You need to make sure the relationships between the journal header and distributions are correct.

    Typically when I configure these the header would contain the Batch Id, Trx Date and Reference with grouping set up on all three fields if it was being done with header and distributions in one file. The lines would also contain these fields and they would be what the releationship was set up using.

    As well as ensuring that the relationships are correct, you need to save each sheet of the Excel sheet as a CSV file (text, Comma Separated Values)
