When installing the Dynamics SL 2015 SDK I am getting a message that Visual Studio 2010, 2012 or 2013 must be installed.  My system has Visual Studio 2010 Express installed.  Does anyone know if the issue is that you cannot use the Express Edition with the SL 2015 SDK (that worked fine with SL 2011) or if there is some way to get around this installation error.  I believe that all I need is the contents of the 2015 VT\VB folder so that I can do some test compiles of my 2011 custom programs to see if they will function under 2015.

    Thanks.  That seemed to do the trick.

    By the way, the URL you provided is truncated in the middle so it cannot be just pasted into Outlook.  However, going to www.visualstudio.com and working from there worked.

    No you want Community 2013 with Update 4 from this page: www.visualstudio.com/.../download-visual-studio-vs.aspx

    The SDK loaded right up in this one.

    Butch,

    Still getting the same message.  Just to be sure, I installed VS Express 2013 for Desktop.  Is that what you indicated?  I still get the same message when trying to install the SL 2015 SDK.

    Thanks for the quick reply.  I will try downloading and installing the Community 2013 version.

    I didn't have a lot of luck with the express editions either.

    The good news is that the Community 2013 version works fine with the 2015 SDK.
