Can anyone suggest that E-commerce is better choice

Can anyone suggest that E-commerce is better choice or should we go for another e-commerce portal like shopify or magento.
 

I was trying to ask if D365 e-commerce is the right choice or not, as Microsoft is not releasing any roadmap for e-commerce and no new updates are coming. Can anyone share a successful story where a customer is using D365 e-commerce successfully for B2C?"

Would you like more information on D365 e-commerce or examples of successful implementations?

    I suggest you mention what your business case is and what is important for your business. No software is perfect, every has its strengths and weaknesses. There are niche products that dont serve a broad audience, but may fit well to your business.

    D365 Commerce Makes Sense for:

    • Existing Microsoft ecosystem users (D365 ERP, CRM, Azure)

    • Complex B2B scenarios requiring deep ERP integration

    • Hybrid retail/e-commerce operations needing unified inventory/customer data

    • Enterprise-scale businesses that prioritize backend integration over frontend flexibility

    Shopify/Magento Advantages

    • More frequent updates and clearer roadmap

    • Larger developer ecosystem

    • Better out-of-the-box B2C features

    • Lower total cost of ownership for pure e-commerce

    Successful D365 Commerce B2C Cases

    While less common than B2B, some B2C implementations include:

    • Major retailers like Marks & Spencer (UK) using D365 for unified commerce

    • Global brands with complex operations (e.g., Pandora jewelry) leveraging the omnichannel capabilities

    • Manufacturers with D2C channels who need ERP-ecommerce integration

    But as the previous contibutors mentioned this is business specific and a better description of your business and processes will narrow down the answers.
