New menu item not visible in navigation search

Hi,
the default Work Exception Log is not very useful as it tells almost nothing about the log and the exception itself.

So there is a request to add two editable fields to the WHSWorkExceptionLog.

Since the WHSWorkExceptionLog form doesn't allow you to edit the fields, I copied all the functionality, the form and menu item into my own.

Of course, I also copied the labels in the process. I made the standard menu item invisible in the menu and put the new menu item in its place.

If the form is now searched via the navigation search, the standard menu item is found, not the one I created.
How can I avoid this and find the new menu item in the navigation search?

I have the same question (0)

Moved from D365 general forum to Supply Chain Management forum, because its seems to be about F&O (SCM) and not about D365 in general. Please let me know if you disagree.

    Hi Christian,

Duplicate menu item labels in the same menu path are ignored in the search. You can try to revoke access to the original menu item and then check the behavior for the user. If that doesn't work, instead of creating a new menu item, you can extend the original menu item and link your new form object. This would not be a solution if you would ever need the original WHSWorkExceptionLog form.

Another solution direction could be creating a new table with the two fields. That table can be added to the form with different access levels.

    Martin,
I agree if the post is moved to another forum... I just thought that other people might also have such a problem... It's not an explicit problem of the SCM ... ;-)
