Storage yard add in for GP?

I'll call this a mini storage business for a lack of a better term. We have a business that has a bunch of individual units that we rent out to customers. We'd like to purchase some sort of software that works with GP and lets us manage these units.

Has anyone ever come across something like this?

How do they plan to charge for the units? Is it going to be monthly or longer term rentals?

We have a client in Edmonton that has a very large business and they have gone to a third party for the unit management, but they bring everything back to GP to do the accounting and all other finance related operations.

Depending on the size of the company, this might be a fit. Send me a PM to discuss off line.

We already use external software and do the same thing you do, but we'd like it to be a one stop shop instead of doing double the work.

What functionality are you looking for in the software? When you say 'manage' the units, do you mean things like keeping track of the renters, billing them on some schedule, keeping track of direct charges (expenses to you) on the unit, keeping track of when the lease expires, and so on?

In one case we used a property management application - but that was years ago - it worked and integrated to GP - so no double entry - then as they grew they went to external application that is very storage industry specific and has ability to link to GP.

Just waiting on details and will forward as soon as I get them.
