Re-import excel (Contacts) with changes not working CRM 2016 but CRM 2015

Having some issues with CRM 2016 when it comes to export / re-import contacts with changes (excel).

1) Export 3 contacts to excel
2) Make a change to the contacts address
3) Re-import, but it think this is some new data and won't let me update changes

If I try to remove the field 'Full Name' from the excel sheet and then re-import, it finds the record and updates it just fine. This is not an issue with CRM 2015 and under.

Any thoughts on this matter?

    Hi,

Does your excel sheet contains the 4 first hidden columns which are used to match the existing records ?

Full name is a read only field and so you will need to exclude it from the view you use.

    Hi ,

I would suggest for data import always you use the template . you can download the template from settings-> Data Management.

Once you download the template you can fill your data from the excel which you have and import it another environment. Template is actually define what data you can import , moreover you can not import fullname is composite column in dynamics CRM.

And that is a new thing for CRM 2016 since it works on CRM 2015?

I am showing only 3 hidden columns.  When mapping, it appears that only the Contact(Primary Key) is selected for import.  The other two:  (Do Not Modify) Modify On and (Do Not Modify) Row Checksum do not have correlating fields to map to?   I exported only the First Name, Last Name and 2 custom fields to update approx. 500 records but continuously errors out.

A record with these values already exists. A duplicate record cannot be created. Select one or more unique values and try again.

Is there any documentation on the export/re-import into CRM???  It seems that this should be able to be done.  Please advise.  Thank  you!
