I just set up GP 2015 on a VM for some development work. The standard client works, but when running the Web Client, I get this error after logging in

A problem occurred creating a session.

In the windows even viewer, I see the same error and it also says see the Session Central Service logs for more information. There do not appear to be any log files in the Session Central area on the disk to get any information from.

i.e. in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP Web Components\SessionService\Logs

The initial thing that you have to start with is the services, you will have to make sure that the following services are running on the web server with no issues

Thanks for helping. They are running. I found this suggestion when I googled the error message and I think I needed to start the GP Service.

However, it has been running for a few hours now, so all the services seem to be stable.

Yes. Services running, "A problem occurred creating a session" error message after logging into the web site. This message is repeated in the event viewer.

I am also seeing this error and have manually started the GP Service as Mahmoud had suggested. The GP Service was not running when I checked. But I still see the message.

A problem occurred creating a session.

On the Web Client server go to Programs and Features, select Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 (Desktop Client Install), click Add/Remove Features and check if Web Client Runtime is installed. If not install it and then try logging into the Web Client.

This fixed my problem.

It is not installed. When I attempt to install it, the installation fails with no helpful error other than "failed".

The installation path is dimmed so I cannot change it to be the CD (Well iso file really). I am not sure which option to choose if I run setup from the CD.

I managed to install it logged on as administrator. So what you suggested did actually fix it. Thanks.
