    Hi,

We cannot compare SaaS vs Azure or sorry if I cannot get your question.

For Business Central we have two major options one is Cloud (SaaS) version that is by getting a subscription otherwise (On-Prem) that we can Install locally, or host the DB in azure or docker based installation.

With SaaS security and control is in Microsoft hands. You have access through web or Business central app.

Licensing cost for Business central essentials On-Prem is around 1450 USD per user for one time.

Licensing cost for Business central essential  Cloud is  70 USD per month.

    Thank you Mr. Bilal,

our 3rd party consultant recommend to have a private cloud under their name instead of SaaS.

Which one is better for us to go with if we need to customize some area ?

If we use their private cloud under their contract, we must dependent on them, is it ?

Can we switch anytime if we have any issue with them in future in case ?

    What should we do ?

    Hi,

Considering that it is not a multi-tenant environment.

    1. Customization is not much affected by SaaS or cloud hosted BC

    2. Yes, you will be dependent on them in terms of control and access to DB but that is not an issue

    3. Yes, you can switch. They will give you latest DB that you an host somewhere else or can go for SaaS
