Delivery Date Control

Hello, we have started doing some setup and testing of ATP.  Where does this specific Lead time field source it's data?  And what is it's interaction on the available ship date?  We have found that that particular lead time field changes based on the Delivery date control methods we assign on the Sales Orders, in the Master data, or some combination of both.

We are finding that orders are getting rescheduled out even when inventory is fully available and as we adjust these settings we see it does have impact on the available ship date.  However, we'd like to truly understand the spirit behind that field and how we should be using it.  Can anyone provide some insight?

Thanks!
-Phil

    Hi Phil,

There is some documentation available about Order promising - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn. This article is explaining what values are considered for the calculations.

    Hi,
You can refer to this blog: www.instructorbrandon.com. It introduces the meaning of professional terms such as CTP and ATP, the difference between the two, how to set up CTP, and gives corresponding examples to help users understand. Order Promising is a feature in D365 that determines the earliest ship and reception dates based on the delivery date control technique, including the number of transport dates. You may choose between four distinct techniques for controlling delivery dates: sales lead times, ATP or available to promise, ATP + issue margin, or CTP, competent to promise, for manufacturing staff.
    Best regards,
    Kevin
