CRM Data Import Successful, but data is not updated

Hi there,

I've had this happen a few times: I've imported data using the CRM import template (exported from my view) - the first import works and updates the data. Then I see I've made some mistakes, or want to change the info, so I re-export the template, update the data (both by copying and pasting, and/or manually using the drop down fields) and re-import. The import says it's successful with no errors, but my data is not updated.

Any thoughts? Would it be the data duplication rules?

    Hi,

    may be because of duplicate detection rules, is there any duplicate detection rules you have registered?

    Hi,

    So the rules that are published are:

    Accounts with the same Account Name

    Leads with the same e-mail address.

    But there are no errors showing up referring to either of these.

    are you importing the new data or updating the existing data through import/export ?

    Also, Please refer the below link, make sure you are not doing any mistake while importing the data which causes that issue

    from which browser are you doing ? , do it from IE and then try

    No luck. Thanks for your suggestions. Maybe I'll ask our service provider.

    Did you use the export for re-import option, modify the XML file using excel, then re-import?  Otherwise, you can't import a file to update existing data unless it has the GUID, which is what the XML format contains.

    There is a workaround to updating existing data in CRM from another source: community.dynamics.com/.../importing-and-updating-records-in-dynamics-crm-2013
