Scrap Functionality on PO

Hi Team,

Would need your help on a business scenario where the business in case of a faulty item creates a Return PO for a purchase but scraps the item at their site i.e. item is not returned to the vendor. When we try to create a Return PO there is a functionality on the Line level for Scrap (see picture below), however even after checking all parameters and setups the Scrap button is not getting enabled. Can someone pls help me on this?

We can use Inventory journals for the same, but I was thinking since scrap functionality is available on the PO, its better to use it.

Hi Pragya,

Can't find any documents on this field.

When creating a project PO, the field will be enabled.

@MATTGUO yes its working now. I was trying without tagging the PO to a Project. Thanks for your help :)

Though I wonder why it does'nt work without tagging it to a Project PO.

Hi Pragya,

Yes the scrap option is set to Yes when we are creating any PO from project module and post consumption on receipts.

And Yes we can use item movement journal as well to take out the inventory from stock and book to material scrap expense account.
