Hello all,

I have a question about the wind-down period of Microsoft, when an extension prevents the update. Microsoft starts the wind-down phase an will remove the publishers code as stated in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/app-maintain

This communication will share that the code from the publisher will be removed in 90 days from the day of the communication from Microsoft (T+150).

My question is, if this will also remove the app data from BC or will it just remove the app and after the update I can install a new version of the app and use the old data?

Hi, I think this will not remove the app data, it just uninstall and unpublish the app.

So, you can intall a new version of the app and use the old data.

In fact, if you do not have time to update your PTE, you can submit a Service Request to Microsoft support and ask them to manually extend the upgrade time. Due to customer reasons, we have done it several times.
