Workflow keep remove the value from some fields

Hi, i just create workflow in my CRM 2016 On-premise. It's a simple work flow, when option set values are changed, it will update some datetime fields with today value.

But, when i check the audit history. The workflow removing value for some fields.

On the picture above, the workflow remove value from validated field. So the validated fields now have null value. Though i never set field to null withing the workflow. Why this is happen, is there a hole in my workflow ? Also why the audit history recording the other field though there are no changed happen in those fields ?

    Hi,

    assuming your above workflow doest set field value to null. It could be caused by other workflow or plugin. You can try to deactivate them and see the result.

    Hi, can you confirm the following

    • Are there any other plugins/workflows or integrations running on the update of this option set field. 
      • If CRM is recording these updates then definitely there is an update that is happening
      • It could potentially be happening because of a ripple effect. Eg - Your workflow updating field A and on update of this field there is another process getting triggered which updated field B, so in audit history you would see both Field A and B getting updated.
      • Hope this explains why there are multiple updates in audit history. 
    • Can you share a screenshot of the update step's properties where you are setting the value.
    • There is a good possibility of a background job clearing our the Validated date.

    If you indeed find that there are other plugins/workflows running then you might want to try disabling them and then run this workflow and see if this happens again. This is how you will have to troubleshoot this problem.
