Changing sales data based on purchase data changes

We're trying to figure out the following.

If we change an expected delivery date on the purchase orderlines which have direct impact on the Sales order shipment dates we'd like to let it change automatically.

Anyone got any ideas how to get this working so that a Sales user gets an automatic task to approve the change in the sales order?

    Hi Max

Out of the box you cannot do this to my knowledge. This would be an extension to have some sort of sync. I have seen it in ISVS but not native.

I believe you could do this with Power Automate to notify a user when a field changes.

    Hi Jenn

At this moment we're using a lot of internal communication for this step. What would you suggest in making this process more smart?

Do you use any of the inventory planning functionality in the system, or is it all done manually?

You could look into setting up a power automate flow that notifies users when the expected delivery date on purchase orders is changed.

As far as I know, this can only be customized.
And first you need to use Drop Shipment or Special Order to associate Sales Order with Purchase Order. Otherwise, you can't find it from the code
    For example,

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

We're using an extension from our ERP partner to purchase which is called Item inv. management list.

What is does is make propositions on what to purchase based on current inventory, reorder point, order multiple & ofcourse outstanding Sales orders.

We only use Special order on orders which will be shipped directly from supplier to customer. For the regular orders we bundle all the quantity per item number in one line so that we don't send hundreds of lines to our suppliers.
