Based on this article, Microsoft only keeps backups of our live and Sandbox environments for 28 days:
 
 
Does anyone know of products or options available to extend this window as our organization requires the ability to restore to any point in time for 1 year?

    28 days is actually quite high.
    what you can do is to do monthly export of the database backup.
    you get around 10 export per month.

    Hi,
     
    Instead of extending from 28 days which is quite not possible, you can export the back up file on a monthly basis or any other frequency as required and store it at some location.
