Delete an auto-post in activity feed if given certain condition (e.g. confidential)

Hi,

Has anyone figured out a way to delete the auto-post for a record creation if say a custom field equals "yes"?

For example, I like the fact that when creating a contact it creates a post on the activity feed and anyone who is following the said user can see that fact.

However, I want to be able to customize this so if the user says "No Post", it would not generate this auto-post when the record is created. Or delete the post after the fact (say via a workflow), as I want to keep the functionality of auto-posting available.

Typically this record would be confidential, so if a random user clicked on the auto- post -- they would be blocked from accessing it anyways.

I was struggling to find any workflow work-around and unable to truly customize the activity feed rules + configuration. Perhaps some javascript?

Thanks!

    Hello,

I believe it's possible to write a custom workflow activity that will allow to delete records. So you will have possibility to create a workflow that will handle creation of post and if condition is met you can use developed custom workflow activity to delete a post.

I looked into it again and it seems like that I am able to create a post given certain conditions for an entity. I am unable to check what type of entity the post is regarding, so that makes it impossible to run a background flow on all posts created and delete itself if it matches the conditions.

So I am going to try to:

    1) Disable all the auto posting for an entity by the activity feed rules

    2) Create my own workflow & conditions for when to make a post (for a given entity)

Not exactly ideal, but may get the job done.
