Microsoft Dynamics RMS (Archived)

Is this a hardware issue?

We just had RMS installed on a new computer. This system (Win7 HP 32, 4gb RAM, i3 cpu). The Windows install has worked fine for a week. No errors.

Now throughout the day using the POS terminal we get the following message:
The program SOPOSUSER.exe version 2.0.0.126  stopped interacting with Windows and was closed.

Anybody had this sort of problem before? The company that installed it believe it's a hardware issue (and thus not their responsibility)

Thanks

    Maybe, maybe not!

Try running a repair install in Control Panel | Programs and Features | right click on Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations | select Repair

If after the repair it continues to happen, I would check the Windows installation is up to date.  You might also test the RAM in the machine. Click the Start button and type Memory | select the Memory Diagnostic Tool and select the now or later option and let the test run.

Also you might get up to date on the RMS program, you're about 40 hotfixes behind.

    Hi Richard,

Try running the software in Windows XP compatibility mode. Right-Click the POS icon and choose Properties. On the Compatibility tab, enable compatibility mode by checking the box and selecting Windows XP SP3 from the drop down list. You may also want to enable this under the Change settings for all users option if you have multiple logins being used.
