Flex Time – Internal Notes

On the Dynamics SL Web Business Portal – Flex Time Entry there are three fields; actual description, invoice comments, and internal notes.

The Actual Description shows as the description field on the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry (TM.TEA.00) screen.

The Invoice Comments shows as the Invoice Comments tab on the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry (TM.TEA.00) screen.

Questions:

Where does the internal notes field appear on the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry (TM.TEA.00) screen?

How is the internal notes field stored, used, and what is the size limitation?

Does the internal notes field appear on any of the reports?

What is the size limitation for the Invoice Comments field?

How can the size limitation be adjusted?

    Hi Ed,

Internal Comments are stored in the Snotetext field of the SNOTE table.  To have the notes print on a report, you would need to add the Snote table to the report.  There are instructions in the KnowledgeBase article 847735.  The snote text can basically handle what would be considered an unlimited amount of text.

    Hi Carolyn,

    Thank you for the response.

Is the internal notes field available on the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry (TM.TEA.00) screen?

Or does it only pertain to the Business Portal Flex Time Entry?

    Sincerely,

    Ed

    Hi Ed,

Are you asking if any of the notes are stored in the Snote table in the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry screen?  There are three ways to store notes.  There are the two comment buttons - Invoice Comments and the Comments button at the bottom of the screen.  These notes are stored in PJNotes.  There is also the Notes/Attachments icons next to the Employee field and at the bottom of the screen.  These notes are stored in the Snote table.

    Hi Carolyn,

    Thank you for the response.

Internal Notes appears on the Timecard with Rate/Amount Entry (TM.TEA.00) screen when you click on the Notes\Attachments letter icon on the screen.

    Sincerely,

    Ed
