unable to print. Transaction is Not assigned to a batch

Team,

We want to allow transaction posting for Sales Transaction Entry and have done the necessary settings. Unfortunstely, the system does not allow you to print the invoice unless it is assigned to a batch. This issue is one one company while in another company (as well as Fabrikam) is working ok.

Where do i start troubleshooting? This is in GP2010.

Patrick

I face the same issue, I have two companies with typical setup options but one of them print smoothly and the other one give me the above mentioned message when I'm trying print without assigning a batch !!

If anybody have an idea regarding this issue, please help.

I have never been able to print a document that hasn't been saved.  GP doesn't write all the transaction info to the database until it has been saved (or posted).  If you don't save the transaction, then the data can't be retrieved for printing.  If you put the transaction in a batch you will see that the transaction is saved before it prints.

Actually, I agree with you if I'm not using Allow Transactions Posting option in GP posting setup. but, by using this option I'm not use batches at all so, How I can print sales transaction document before posting it "As you know if I post it in first, the sales document will be a historical document !! ".

you have to save it in a batch to print before posting.  it is required, no matter your posting setup.  If you  put a batch on it - it will first prompt you to save the document and then it will print.  I never told you to post it first - only that you have to SAVE it for the system to be able to print.

    Thank you for your replying.

Finally, I reach the SOP setup trick that you must allow Edit Printed Documents option without assigning it any password, to do such as i need.

    Thanks again.
