Does anyone know for sure if an installation of GP 2010 can email templates using Outlook 2013. I have a client with this setup and I cannot even see the Email setup link under the company section in Administration. Thanks for any insight.

    RE: Emailing from GP2010 using MS Office/Outlook 2013

    After more research and looking at different machines.  Some where Office 2010 was installed before Office 2013, some were fresh installs.  I've found this to be the most basic solution.  All of the machines I used were 64bit, so if yours is 32bit you can ignore entries with Wow6432Node.  I hope this helps others with the same problem.

    Check C:\Windows\Win.ini and make sure it contains:

    [MAIL]

    MAPI=1

    MAPIX=1

    Check that these registry keys exist:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MAIL]

    "MAPI"="1"

    "MAPIX"="1"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem]

    "MAPI"="1"

    "MAPIX"="1"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MAIL]

    "MAPI"="1"

    "MAPIX"="1"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem]

    "MAPI"="1"

    "MAPIX"="1"

    Using procmon from sysinternals, I saw GP was looking for a registry entry that did not exist.  It was looking for:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MAIL] which did not exist.  I exported the non WOW64 version and imported it and it works.  Below is the reg file I used to create this entry.  It is the same issue noted on other blogs where GP is looking for MAPIX key but not finding it.

    ==========begin reg file===============

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MAIL]

    "CMCDLLNAME32"="mapi32.dll"

    "CMC"="1"

    "MAPI"="1"

    "MAPIX"="1"

    "MAPIXVER"="1.0.0.1"

    "OLEMessaging"="1"

    =========end reg file==================

    I forgot to mention, I am running 32-bit edition of Office 2013.  It did work for several months on my system, then stopped working.  Some systems it has never worked on.  Some other systems it still works properly.

    As Mr.  JONATHAN considers above, the thing that you may concern about is either it is 32 or 64. The reason why 64 bits is not supported is regarding the MAPI engine, it has been illustrated on the following article;  64-bit editions of Office 2013

    If you have found a way to get this working properly, please share.

    I have Office 2013 ProPlus (From Office 365) installed and I was able to use email features for awhile, now I'm not able to access them.  I have other users that have not been able to use email in GP since installing Office 2013.  I have checked with MFCMAPI and the MAPI system is working, but GP will not use it.  Using GP 2010 SP2.

    Depends on what version of Outlook 2013 you are using. 32-bit yes, 64-bit not supported and will not work. This information is on the System Requirements page for GP 2010.
