Warehouse shipment

Posted on by 89

Hello everyone,

we have a question, we are trying to make a development that allows us to create a warehouse shipment from a job,

The process is as follows:
1. We create the job

2. When we create the warehouse pick, the warehouse shipment and the record in the warehouse request table are automatically created by a development.

Finally, when we try to post the warehouse shipment we are getting the following error

Does anyone know what relationship or field mapping are we missing?

Regards.

    RE: Warehouse shipment

    Hi, thanks a lot.

We were planning to use jobs, because the company needs to get the items and resources organized by "rooms".

So the the structure of the jobs as a project, the job task as "rooms" and the job planning lines for resources(employees) and items were ideal for this purpose.

The main warehouse process is this

    Receive -> pick -> place -> built -> shipped

    Regards,

    Nicolas Payan

Hi, I'm sorry I haven't tried it, it doesn't look that simple. You need to investigate the source code more deeply.
Perhaps a different idea would be to automatically create an order in the backend and then create Warehouse Shipments from the order?
But this might have a conflict with Job Planning Line creating invoices.

You can submit an idea to Microsoft, but not sure when this feature will be added....

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi Zhu Yun,

Thanks for the detailed answer. So, due to there is no Job option in the Source Type, is not possible to relate the Warehouse Shipments and Job?

    pastedimage1666905798795v1.jpeg

We also notice that Job table doesn't have a "Document Type" column. Could this affect too?

    Thanks.

Hi, Sorry I'm not very sure.
I simply checked the posting code, and it seems to be a problem with the "Source No." of "Warehouse Request". Because there is no Job type, the Source No. may be incorrect, which makes it impossible to get it when posting.

    Hi ZHU YUN,

We have been reviewing all those sales order cash processes, for example to refer to the "source type", we make use of the work schedule lines table, but in the case of "document type" the job it does not have it (however we are putting the same as the document type of the order).

Here are some pictures of the result of the process that we carry out and the new error that we get when we try to shipit pastedimage1666833595752v1.png
pastedimage1666833842856v3.png I appreciate any other clue that can lead us to solve this problem

    RE: Warehouse shipment

Hi, I think you can create a Warehouse Shipment from standard features like Sales Order and Transfer Order and compare what some of your own custom features are missing.

    For example, From Sales Order

    pastedimage1666830222526v2.png

    pastedimage1666830252513v3.png

"Source type" is the ID of the related table. "37" is "Sales Line". Then "source subtype" should be the field "Document type" of table 37.

Hope this can give you some hints.

    Thanks.
