BC Service Maintenance in Middle of Working Day?

Our users start receiving this message during the day in certain dates. Sometimes a few times. We are on BC SaaS for more than 2 years and since 2 months ago we did not have this issue. I understand that we are on SaaS and Microsoft needs to update the server. But why the do it right in middle of working day? Can they wait for slower time of the day to work on these updates?

This is causing too many issues for our users.

Does anyone has any idea how we can ask Microsoft to postpone such a maintenance?

Hi, I noticed this too, when I was working on BC in US Region, this message would pop up around 4pm JST.
Not sure if it works. I think we can try to modify the update start time?

Thanks for your response and thanks for all great information you post in your blog. I read your blog almost daily.

I have checked Update Start Date and Time and they set between 12 - 6 am (as shown in your picture).

This is not an update since we do not see any change in BC version. it looks like some sort of server maintenance.

I hope Microsoft provide some extra info on this or with help of people like you we can find a solution for it.

I believe this is related to urgent update, so I don't think we have control about it and it shouldn't happen that often.

Thank you for your answer.

It had happen at least 4 times during the last month. I still cannot understand what kind of emergency update needs to happen during the day. And even why needs to happen a few times a day (like today). I mean if Microsoft provide some answers and guideline then we can share with our team and this way we will not have frustrated users.

Middle of the day for you might be in the middle of the night for them. You can always contact your partner to give a formal complain to Microsoft. SaaS means sometime we are at mercy at Microsoft's decision.

Hello,

This should not happen too often of course. There are a few components that BC team does not control. We also do not want users to loose data so we send the notification upfront. That said, this can happen but it should not happen multiple times.

Please raise a ticket to Microsoft so we can verify if this is indeed expected or something that we can address so that it does not happen that often.

Thank you for your response. Through our partner we notified Microsoft and so far this did not happen again.
