A, B, C Inventory Analysis

Hi:

I guess most businesses code their items as A, B, or C to conduct physical inventory.

If so, would this be done by Item Category Code in the Item Card?

Thanks!

Hi, this can be managed through a reordering policy by defining it on the item card. Below is the link to the guide. Hope it helps. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/setup-best-practices-reordering-policies

As far as I know, there is no such function.
However, you can add Item Category Code in Physical Inventory Journals, export the table, and then summarize by Item Category Code to do inventory.
But when returning to the system, because you are taking inventory of the Item Category, you need to average it out to each item.

Just a thought, hope it gives you some hints.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Yes, in Business Central, you can use the Item Category Code on the Item Card to categorize items for various purposes, including conducting physical inventory. By assigning items to different categories (like A, B, or C), you can better organize and manage your inventory. This helps in sorting and finding items based on their characteristics.
