Dynamics GP 2013 Word templates - printing Formats

We have been excited about MS Dynamics GP Word add-in templates that allowed us to make one of our clients invoice look and function according to their needs and requirements. The client has customized and used the OTHER INVOICE FORM which was not available as a template in the supplied templates with the Dynamics GP 2013. That is why we created, designed it and added all the requested fields using available recommendations. Everything went smoothly without errors. We relied on Report Writer with the fields and updated our .xml file with each change as well as the template in the Templates Management. We found that we have to create Historical Invoice template in order to be able to print our Posted Invoices. It has been created. The first thing our client tried is printing. We opened Print Sales Documents in SOP, selected our invoice as the document type and...our format was not available. The OTHER INVOICE FORM Format is not available in the PRINT SALES DOCUMENTS. It is missing in the Print Historical Document for the Invoice as well. We had to step back and to customize BLANK INVOICE FORM for the client to have the Format available for printing from PRINT SALES DOCUMENT. Although we have questions remaining. Is it possible to add the OTHER INVOICE FORM Format to the available formats list? Why is the OTHER INVOICE FORM format missed in the list of the available format while there is no any limitation or restriction in the SOP documents INVOICE formats set up? _________ Victoria Lozkin, MCP

    No, we cannot find the format in the list. The company selected the OTHER INVOICE FORM as their Invoice format and we could not find it in the list of available formats for the printing in the PRINT SALES DOCUMENTS. We had to select another template for the company. OTHER INVOICE FORM is not available for the Quote and Order as well.

    I looked up all the SOP Documents set up, Modifier's drop down list but could not help fixing it. may be there are other tools.

    Thank you for the link. It is very helpful link for the templates creating and configuring. I have used this guiding when we were creating and adding the templates. It has all the details and screen shots. Because we used these recommendation the stage of the template creation and assigning went smooth without any troubles and the templates are functional. Although when it comes to the printing in the particular SOP GP section the format itself is not available for the selection. You have 3 other formats for your selection but one specific is missed in the format selection choice list when you try to print the document Invoice from Print Sales Documents. How can we add it to the list?

    Yes, the template was enabled since we have created and tested it in the SOP Transactions Invoice printing first. The format is available there. Although when we try to print from Print Sales Documents the OTHER INVOICE FORM format is missed in the drop down selection list. I think the same is for the Orders.
