Product sequence number in the quotes that are made in the opportunity

Hi,

I am trying to make a quote in the opportunity. Everything goes well but the sequence number of the products That I chose from the opportunity , all are set to Null.

These are my steps in details:

I go to sales>opportunity
click on the add-button
Fill the "Title" and the "currency", then press save
I already made a price list and some products, I add the price list and some products
I scroll down and add a quote (this quote has the products that I added in step 4 by default)

Now when I go to the "filteredQuoteDetail" view in the DB the "sequecenumber" for all the products that I added in step 4 are set to Null. we need this number to display it in my report to show it to our customers. Without that we have a form with all the products and their prices but without any numbering for products which is not convenient in communicating with the customers.

Would you please guide me how to prevent the sequence to be set to null!

Hi Mandana,

By default the seqencenumber is not in the 'Mapping List' Opportunity Product to Quote Product.

So, you need to add this mapping.

You need to open this link on your CRM server:

http://crmserver/orgname/Tools/SystemCustomization/Relationships/Mappings/mappingList.aspx?mappingId=[MAPPING_ID]

example:

http://servername:port/organizationname/Tools/SystemCustomization/Relationships/Mappings/mappingList.aspx?mappingId=6BC464BC-43BA-E311-9400-001CC4EECDD6

How to get the MAPPING_ID?

I have tried it.

It is a hidden mapping between Opp product to Quote Product.

So, after you hit the URL

You can see there is no sequence number in the list, only lineitemnumber (which you didn't have this value auto-filled, unless you use this to sort the product)

Then, create a new mapping, select sequencenumber for both entity.

After you added:

Now, convert your Opportunity to Quote, make a Quote from this Opportunity and see the result of sequence number from the "filteredquotedetail view"
