Error when modifying an Opportunity in CRM 2013

When I try to change the owner of an Opportunity, I receive the error "The page at https://[company_name].crm.dynamics.com says An error has occurred. Please return to the home page and try again.

Problem is, the back button doesn't work with Opportunities. I use either Chrome or IE 9. Same errors. IE 9 is worse. IE 10 is the worst. I have to close the browser, re-log in, and stop trying to use Opportunities.

Does everyone in the company experience the same issue or just you?  Does your security role have the necessary privileges to change owners on the opportunity and all related records (email, task, etc.)?  Do you know if there are any scripts or plug-ins running on the Opportunity?  Is the Opportunity Open or has it been marked as Closed (Won or Lost)?

Everyone experiences the same issue. We have so many issues with CRM 2013, some have given up using it however. I have every security access that can be granted. I'm the administrator. We upgraded to 2013 in order to get ClickDimensions integrated online with Inside View. The Opportunity is Open.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing so many challenges.

Since you are having a high number of issues, and end users are impacted to the point of not using the application, I recommend getting a CRM Partner to work with you to resolve the issues.  Your other option is to open a support ticket with Microsoft for each issue.

    Hello,

I can confirm one thing is that it is not a known issue, I would recommend you to disable any scripts and plugins on the Opportunity Form and then check it. If you have tried that too and still facing the issue then do open up a support case with Microsoft.

    Thanks,

    Here how resolve.

I was facing the same problem right now and i am the admin too, but i figured out how to resolve this.

Probably you have in your header form the owner field. You just need reallocate it to the body section.

I did go to configurations -> personalizations -> Customize the System -> Entities Opportunity -> Forms and in there i choosed my main form, unmarked "Show only field not used", choosed the owner field and put in to body section, enter in header section and delete the owner field from there and i putted  its place the field "create by".

    Hope this help.

I can confirm that Rafael's solution works though I cannot say why. Thanks for posting Raphael.

RE: Error when modifying an Opportunity in CRM 2013

Rafael's solution helped me figure it out *in CRM 2016*.

In my case, I was trying to deactivate an Account record that had a required field that was empty.  I had two different required fields - one in the form header and one on the form body.  If either required field was empty, using the Deactivate button on the form and clicking OK would fail with the "Please try again" error.

I could deactivate the record by selecting it from the Accounts grid without a problem.
