Report to Summarize Activities converted to Opportunities

Good morning. Using CRM 2016 OnPremise I would like to create a report to show how many activities have been converted to Opportunities. Some of those activities are related to Marketing Campaigns but others don't. I understand the concept behind filtered views but I could not figure out how to link them in order to get the results I want. I am open to use Fetch XML too, if possible. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Xavier

I'd look for activities where the regarding object is an opportunity. But that would not be the complete truth since you could link more than one activity to an opportunity, e.g. tasks, regarding mails, ...

oops just recognized you are asking about a report and not advanced find.

How do you create your reports? Via the wizard, or do you create ssrs reports?

Hi Thomas. We need to create the report using SSRS.

    Hi Xavier,

This would depend on your definition of "Activities converted to opportunities".

Keep in mind Activities entity is combination of all activities. For reporting you would want to find the indicator on each entity then aggregate those. For instance if I click a custom Boolean field, "Convert to Opportunity", that field would need to be on each entity Phone Call, Task, Appointment, Email, etc. and that is where you would report from.

Otherwise you would be assuming that if an activity is "regarding" an opportunity, that is was the source of that opportunity. Which in some cases maybe that is all you need to know.

Thanks Tom for your answer. However, Phone Calls and Appointments already do have a "convert to" dropdown menu where you can choice "Opportunity" as an option. So, there is no need to have a custom field. My problem is I could not figure out how to find out the activities which have been converted using this option.
