How to Change Decimal Places on the Unit & Discount Price on SOP Blank Invoice Form

Customer uses 4 decimal places in GP for inventory items and does not wish to change.  However, they would like to change the format of these fields to reduce the decimal places that display on the sop blank invoice form.  I have gone into the formatting of the current fields and tried every combination and cannot get it to print any differently.  I have also tried creating a new TEST format and still it does not work.  Any Suggestions?

Thanks,

Nancy

In case the formatting is not meeting your requirement, you do need to consider the "rounding" function in order to decrease the number of decimals. Consider the support article for this issue Article ID: 872275 How to round a calculated field in Report Writer in Microsoft Dynamics GP

One important point to consider when using the rounding function, the parameter you pass for this function doesn't reflect the real number decimals you want. For example, if you want to retrieve 2 decimals as in your case, you need to pass 3.

Never hesitate to share any further inquiries,

RE: How to Change Decimal Places on the Unit & Discount Price on SOP Blank Invoice Form

We had an experience with a client recently who wanted this type of change to the invoice for just this reason.  The primary method to make this change would be to change the format that applies to the field on the invoice; however, this format applies to many reports all over Great Plains (like checks, inventory reports, etc.)

So this change affected almost every report in GP - so be very careful attempting this change.  In the end our team's developer was able to create a custom calculated field to replace the default field on the invoice only, so the change did not permeate throughout Dynamics GP.

Thanks for your reply Harry.  I will go with the calculated field as suggested by Mahmoud as well.
