Strange errors when starting up integration manager

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

we get the following error(s) when trying to start up integration manager.

ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database '(unknown)'.  It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

ERROR [IM006] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed  ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database '(unknown)'.  It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

As far as we can tell, the MDB file is not corrupt. We repaired it both through the Access application, and through Administrator tools. I even created a fresh mdb file through integration manager, and still could not connect to it. Has anyone seen this issue?

    Tina,

    Try this:

    1. Open Microsoft Access.

    2. In the Microsoft Access window, click File, and then click Open.

    3. In the Open window, navigate to the path where your Integration Manager database is saved.

    4. On systems using Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, the default database is located at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 14\Samples

On systems using Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, the default database is located at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 12\Samples

    5. Next to the File name input field, click on the file type dropdown box, and then choose All Files (*.*).

    6. Double click on your Integration Manager database file. The default is named IntegrationManagerSamples.imd.

    7. If you are prompted to allow dependencies to be built, click OK.

    8. In the Microsoft Access window, click File, and then click Compact & Repair.

    Thanks,

    Hi Michael,

May I ask how you have repaired the IM database files?

    Thanks,

    Tina Lopez

Michael great solution on the problem - wondering how big the imports are that you are running and the frequency.

We have encountered some similar error messages when running IM over 3000 lines log - with a bunch of 'warning' messages.  But never thought to check out the Log Data file.

We will be doing that over the weekend.

Follow up, anybody know why the access database corrupts? is it the log files? should we be purging that periodically?

So apparently, there are 2 access databases associated with IM. i repaired the default database shown in the "options" menu, but that wasn't the issue. There was also one out on the app server that was corrupted (mapped in the help->about window). after opening it and repairing it the error went away.

I've tried to launch it all of those ways, and I get the same error every time. The versions are compatible as far as I know, we were using IM just yesterday.

we are on IM version 11.00.2055 and GP version 11.00.2197 (SP3)

I'll check on the ODBC/SQL versions as well.

Micheal, where are you trying to launch Integration Manager from?

Are you running from the Start Menu?

If so, have you tried to run as Admin (right click and run as)

Are you running from within the GP Application?

If you are can you confirm that the version of IM and GP are compatible.

I have seen an error like this when the ODBC connection is not using the proper interface for the version of SQL server.

Let me know if this helps.  If you can send more details on the version of GP and IM as well as the ODBC connection in DNS that you are connected to.
